Cornelius Police Department is investigating a burglary

The Cornelius Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred in the early morning hours of March 31, 2026, at a federally licensed firearms dealer located on Old Statesville Road.

At approximately 2:11 a.m., officers responded to an alarm at Harrison Precision, located at 18535 Old Statesville Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered that four male suspects had forcibly entered the business.

Once inside, the suspects entered an interior room and removed four older-model shotguns. The suspects remained inside the business for approximately 30 seconds before fleeing, possibly after being startled by a motion-activated light.

Preliminary investigation indicates that two of the suspects who handled the firearms were wearing gloves, while the other two appeared to avoid touching items inside the store.

The suspects arrived in the area around 2:03 a.m. in a silver 2011-2014 Hyundai Sonata with an unknown license plate. The vehicle was observed traveling northbound on Old Statesville Road from Huntersville before passing the business and making a U-turn at the intersection of Old Statesville Road and Bailey Road. The suspects initially entered the front parking lot before relocating to the rear of the building. They are believed to have exited the vehicle nearby and approached the business on foot.

Following the break-in, the vehicle was seen leaving the area, turning left onto Bailey Road, and traveling past Bailey Road Park.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Cornelius Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 704-896-8767.
